Now: A streamlined system, easy to use where tracability is build in from the ground, and implementation of new customers is easy.
Strålfors wanted to make simple the information exchange between customers and suppliers, but there was also a desire to make the systemintegration between various units more effective. e-man's task has been to craft a strategy for the integration, and implement that strategy in reality.
The new system has been well received in the organization. The previous solution made it hard for Strålfors to grow as intended. Thanks to the successful systems integration the group has now all possibilities to expand at the intended pace.
Strålfors has many subsidiaries in many different countries. This ment that numerous it-, business, and production systems had to be managed. The varying structure and technology of the systems also made information exchange between Strålfors different units and their customers and suppliers complex.
After the systems integration, the information exchange is streamlined. Everything is structured in the same way, with the same architecture, implemented according to the same guideines. This makes the system easy to use. It's easy to find information, there is built-in support for tracability and thanks to the homogeneity, Strålfors effectively have reduced the time it takes to implement new customers.
The core of the system is Microsoft BizTalk, assisting in bringing together information from all different parts of the business process. Additional products that were used are TIBCO EMS (Enterprise Message Service) for global distribution of messages. In order to simplify the integration of specific systems, adapers from iCore Solutions where used.
